Katie McCollum

Katie McCollum began her Tang Soo Do training with the Oklahoma Institute of Martial Arts in April of 2024. Through her dedication, perseverance, and commitment to the traditional values of martial arts, she earned her 1st Degree Black Belt and serves as an Assistant Instructor, helping students develop confidence, discipline, and strong martial arts fundamentals.

Katie has distinguished herself through her accomplishments both in training and competition. She was recognized as Best of Test during her Black Belt Assessment, is a gold medal recipient of the SW APTSDF Regional Championships and serves as the OKIMA Demo Coordinator.

Outside the dojang, Katie is a professional actor, singer, dancer, and voice over artist. A graduate of Oklahoma City University with a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre, she has performed locally, regionally, and nationally, including the national tour of On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan.

Katie’s background in the performing arts enhances her martial arts instruction, bringing enthusiasm, leadership, and creativity to the training floor. Katie remains committed to lifelong learning, personal growth, and serving others through the martial arts.
